Jacob

Jacob was born on August 12, 1993. He easily finished his bench championship. In October 1995, he won Best of Breed at the Southern Specialty under judge Ms. Mary Lou Harris. In 1996, Jacob won Best of Breed at the AWC Eastern Specialty under breeder-judge Doug Arthur. Jacob was also the Best of Opposite Sex winner at the 1998 AWC National Specialty in San Diego, CA under breeder judge Bud Gutilla. In 1996, Jacob was a top 20 competitor.

To our knowledge Jacob is the only black whippet in history to have won two Specialty Best in Shows to date. He also earned numerous AWC Select Award of Merits over the years. Jacob is very passionate about the bunny, however due to his show career we were unable to course him as his co-owner Dr. James Gray discouraged us from running him as long as he was being shown. His show career lasted sometime and Jacob was past his prime for coursing when we retired him from the ring.
Jacob lives with the other half of Cherche', my mother, Glenda Durance here in Georgia.
